Eating Disorders

An eating disorder is no simple matter. It is a complex combination of psychological, cultural and physiological forces.  In most cases, an eating disorder is a valiant attempt to cope with underlying stresses, which may or may not be recognized by the person struggling with the disorder.  At The Koch Center, it is our goal to help the individual regain control of his or her life and to learn ways to feel comfortable and happy while uncovering and managing those things which may have contributed to the development of the disorder.  We work from a philosophy of wellness, recognizing and helping each person to harness his or her internal strengths, leading to a sense of growth and well-being.  Whether restricting, bingeing, purging, compulsive overeating or any combination of these behaviors are involved, we can help to restore a sense of balance.
